Showing students

Its been a while but here I am again. Today I am showing year two students this blog and the numerous other ones I run. We have 12 students completing the second year of the diploma this year. The first course for students is Sales and Marketing followed by Sustainable Practice.

Its interesting to note that none of the students in class have a blog - amazing really.

Perhaps if you included things like Facebook, or a photo sharing site, or video sharing site in your definition of a blog, the numbers would be different. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was still low. The digital literacy that comes with at least knowing what a blog is and how to manipulate one (in teh broadest sense), puts in perspective now how important your work is to the NZ tourism sector.

We should get the teachers who are doing this line of work together soon and reflect on the challenges and shortfalls. Dave McQuillan is one other, doing it in a big way. I do it too of course, and Cathy Price is about to as well.

Sing out if you need help.
